Dear Taconic Hills Community,
Thank you again for your support of the school budget as well as our graduating class of 2024! Our graduation rate for this year’s cohort was 92% and we are so very proud of each of our graduating seniors! We can't do all that we do without your vote of confidence and want you to know that we deeply appreciate all of the ways that you support the work.
I'm writing today to ask for you to participate in another opportunity to support the district. We are excited to announce the launch of our new strategic planning process, a pivotal initiative that will shape the future of our district. As we begin this journey, we want to emphasize the importance of your involvement in this endeavor.
The updated Strategic Plan will aim to create a roadmap that not only reflects the aspects of our school that are already working well but also addresses areas in which we can make improvements. We are committed to considering your perspectives and opinions on the direction we should take. We genuinely value your input in making our updated Strategic Plan the best it can be. We encourage you to share your insights on what we are excelling at and where there's room for growth. Additionally, we are eager to hear your thoughts on what we should prioritize for the future.
To participate and share your valuable feedback, please click here: https://tejoin.com/scroll/413441491
The survey platform allows you to contribute your thoughts anonymously, and you can also view and rate the feedback provided by other community members. We encourage an open and ongoing dialogue, so feel free to revisit the platform often and keep the conversation alive.
Your feedback will be instrumental in guiding our future plans, so we urge you to make your voice heard. The survey will remain accessible until 7/30.
Thank you for your engagement and support as we work together to shape the future of Taconic Hills!
Respectfully,
Lynnette Brunger

At last night's Board of Education meeting, Class of 2024 graduate Neil Howard III was presented the Scholastic Award by Peter Sheridan, President of the Greater Capital Region Track, Field, and Cross Country Hall of Fame.
Taconic Hills Class of 1974 Alum John Dunn assisted Peter in presenting this award to Neil. John set the Section II record in shotput 50 years ago, an achievement which held for 17 years. John still holds the Taconic Hills indoor and outdoor shotput records, and will be inducted to the GCRTFCC Hall of Fame this October.
Congratulations to both Neil & John!🧡

Good Evening,
We have received multiple concerns regarding the high temperatures and humidity for this week. The District will remain open tomorrow, June 18, 20 and 21. A reminder that the District will be closed on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind families about our commitment to safety. The building is cooled with AC units in each classroom. We will continue to monitor temperatures during the week, and will make adjustments to PE classes, recess, and other outdoor activities if necessary.
Please follow these guidelines to ensure your child’s safety in these temperatures:
Provide your child with a water bottle to drink and refill at our filtered water stations
Dress your child in appropriate, light, loose fitting clothing.
If you wish for sunscreen to be applied to your child before going outside, please send them in with the product and a note to the school nurse stating that it is okay to apply.
Students who will be taking the 4PM late buses tomorrow will be held inside until the buses arrive. A reminder that tomorrow is the last late bus run for the 2023-2024 school year.
The document in the link below has information in regard to heat and its impact on individuals. More details and specifics regarding summer weather preparedness can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Bkgu1zlFGisgOcuhCQUzO1639F9ZVJPW/view?usp=sharing
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our students.
