Taconic Hills Drop off & Pick-up Procedures

Please help us to ensure a safe and smooth arrival/dismissal each day by following the drop off and pick up procedures outlined on this page.

  • Students who ride the bus will enter through the PAC entrances. Students who drive to school or are dropped off will enter through the Main Entrance of the Elementary or Jr/Sr High School.

  • Students should report directly to their Homeroom/Period 1 class after entering the building.

Thank you for working with us to make arrival time safer and more efficient. If you have any questions about the procedures, please contact the main office of your child’s building.

Student Drop off

Student drop off begins at 7:50AM

  • All parents and guardians must remain in their vehicles. Staff members will be stationed in the loop to assist and escort students safely into the building.

  • All vehicles dropping off must go through the Elementary or the Jr/Sr High loop (photos below); do not pull into the parking lot and drop a child off by the flag pole.

  • No parking will be permitted in the drop-off loop. After your child exits the vehicle, please pull forward immediately to allow the next vehicle to move into position.

  • Follow the directions of school staff. Staff will be present to help maintain a safe and orderly process and assist all students in crossing safely from the drop off loops to the building sidewalk area. Please follow their instructions at all times.

  • Prepare ahead of time. Have your child ready with their belongings before reaching the unloading area to keep the line moving smoothly.

  • If you have an appointment or a younger child you want to walk into the building, use the South parking lot by the softball fields on the elementary side. This is a designated parking area with crosswalks to the building. And it will reduce congestion near the main entrances and in the employee parking lots.

  • Stay alert and avoid distractions. For the safety of all, please do not use cell phones or other electronic devices while navigating the drop-off lane.

Student Dismissal & Pick-Up

Student pickup begins at 2:30PM in the Elementary School and 2:35 at High School

If you arrive before 2:30PM for the Elementary School, please park in the overflow lot across the street from the bus garage. Due to safety concerns on campus, we ask that cars not line up in the overflow lot before 2PM. Cars cannot be in the pickup lane, prior to 2:30PM for the safety of our students.

When you pull up in your vehicle, tell a staff member who your child is & sign for them in order to pick them up. If you are a regular pick-up, please display your pick up tag on your rearview mirror to ensure easier pickup. Students can only travel with someone who is authorized to pick them up. Please remember to update your contact information with the school office whenever there is a change.
