Our Elementary Literacy Team is hosting an “I ❤️ Reading” Literacy Night on Thursday, February 12th from 5:00–7:00 PM for students in Kindergarten through 6th Grade.
This will be an interactive evening where students will receive a punch card at the door. Each literacy station they visit earns them a punch, and students who visit all stations can enter to win a hoverboard or other fun prizes!
Enjoy door prizes, games, free cookies and hot cocoa, and a free book courtesy of the PTO!

Taconic Hills PTO "Ducky Valentines" are back!
Let someone special know that you feel like a lucky duck to have them in your life!
Each Ducky Valentine order includes a 2-inch rubber duck and a "You Quack Me Up!" Valentine card with your choice of 1 of 3 messages on the back. Both items are placed in an adorable bag to be delivered to your Valentine's classroom for Valentine's Day!
***This year Valentine's Day is on a Saturday, so the Valentine's will be delivered on Friday the 13th of February 2026!***
You may purchase a Ducky Valentine for any Taconic Hills student or faculty member from Headstart-8th Grade.
Available again this year is the “Donate A Duck” item, this is an option where you can elect to add donated ducks to your order. This feature is designed to, once again, help the PTO make sure that every child in the Taconic Hills Elementary & Middle School receives a Ducky Valentine this year!! If you can, please help us make sure that no child is left out of this fun tradition!

Dear PreK–Grade 8 Parents/Guardians,
We would like to inform you that the half day originally scheduled on the District Calendar for Grades PreK–8 on Friday, January 23rd has been cancelled.
Students in Grades PreK–8 will now attend school for a full day on this date.
(This does not impact the schedule for Grades 9–12, who should also be attending the full day.)
In addition, students can look forward to a special lunch that day, as our food services staff will be working with a guest chef to provide a wonderful meal of Mongolian meatballs, garlic rice, and roasted broccoli.

Important Midterm & Winter Regents Information!!
Tuesday, January 20 through Friday, January 23 will be Winter Regents & Midterm Examinations for Jr/Sr High Students.
January 20: Students in Grades 7-12 should not attend school, UNLESS they are taking the ELA Regents, Spanish Checkpoint A Exam, Living Environment Regents, or Chemistry Regents. There will be midday transportation only for students taking an exam in the morning. January 21-23: All Jr/Sr High students (grades 7-12) should attend school. The days will be an A/B schedule. Students should report to lab classes, gym classes, etc. The 7th and 8th grade students will be taking midterm exams, as we are not doing a winter NWEA assessment.
Please Note:
- Breakfast and Lunch will be provided all four days.
- The only day with midday transportation is January 20.
- Any student grade 9-12 who is required to take a Regents exam must work with their teachers to set up a time to make up their midterm exam.

Students are welcome to attend all athletic events. However, students must leave campus at dismissal and return at the scheduled start of the game unless they are supervised by a faculty member between dismissal and game time.
Students in grades 7 and 8 must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all athletic contests.
All high school students in attendance are required to call home at halftime to confirm transportation and ensure they are picked up promptly at the end of the game.

- Athletic practices will be held from 3PM-5PM, but there will be no 5:15PM buses. Athletes needing the bus will need to take the 4PM bus home.
- There is NO practice for Varsity or JV GIrls Basketball
- The Varsity Boys Basketball game v. Hawthorne Valley at 5PM is still on for today
- Athletic Contests: Varsity Girls Basketball game has been rescheduled for January 7th at 6pm at Taconic Hills, JV Girls Basketball game has been rescheduled for January 7th at 5pm at Albany Leadership. Varsity Bowling vs Chatham has been rescheduled for January 7th at 4:15pm at Hoe Bowl, Modified Wrestling at New Lebanon has been postponed
The Before & After school program will remain open, as well as extra curriculars and after school help until 4PM. The 4PM after school buses will still be running.

Gabriella, a Copake resident and member of Scouting America Troop 2752, successfully completed her Eagle Scout Board of Review on December 22, 2025. The rank of Eagle Scout represents years of dedication, leadership, and service.
For her Eagle Scout project, Gabriella planned and led the installation of a gazebo and prayer space honoring local veterans, raising more than $12,800 through community support to bring the project to completion at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Copake Falls.
In addition to earning the rank of Eagle Scout, Gabriella has earned an impressive 80 merit badges and will receive multiple Eagle Palms in recognition of her continued commitment. We are incredibly proud of Gabriella and congratulate her on this remarkable achievement.
