This group is for competitive recreational players, to play pick-up and develop some volleyball skills. We play loosely following NCAA Rules. Minimal experience required, but a willingness to learn is appreciated. Open to individuals 18 years of age and up!

Laptop insurance is available for purchase for students in Grades 6-12 until October 31st. Once the window closes, it will be unavailable to purchase until next school year.
Accidents happen, and purchasing insurance can help prevent delays when your student’s device needs to be repaired. Coverage can help keep your student connected to their schoolwork while minimizing unexpected repair or replacement costs.
Basic Plan: Covers common accidental damage, including missing keys, cracked or damaged screens, water damage, and more.
Pro Plan: Includes all Basic Plan coverage, plus protection for lost or stolen devices and more extensive damage.
The deadline to purchase laptop insurance for the 2026–2027 school year is October 31.
Already have an outstanding device charge? You can still purchase insurance. Coverage will be retroactive, so you can purchase a plan even if your student currently has an outstanding device charge.
For a small cost compared to the expense of repairing or replacing a device, insurance can help keep your student’s learning on track, minimize interruptions, and give families peace of mind if something happens to their device.

It’s time for another exciting winter ski/snowboarding season! Following rules and being safe are essential for participating in the Learn to Ski Program. By following the rules students show respect for the activity, their peers, instructors and chaperones. This creates a positive and responsible environment. Adhering to these standards ensures everyone can have fun and stay safe while developing their skills. Ski program will be held on THURSDAYS. Please see the dates when you sign your child up on the Catamount site.

For safety reasons, first time skiers/snowboarders and students under the age of 7 MUST have a parent/guardian at the mountain to supervise their child. Additionally, a parent/guardian MUST meet the bus at the mountain to assist if their child is unable to carry/bring equipment independently to and from the mountain. We no longer have enough volunteers to provide younger students and novice skiers/snowboarders with the supervision and assistance they need to safely navigate the mountain.
A few things to remember for a successful season:
• Students will ride the bus from Taconic Hills at 2:40pm unless other travel has been arranged and you have let Ms. Hay know of those arrangements. Students will arrive to the mountain and be dropped off by the Catamount lodge (see map on back). ALL SKIS AND SNOWBOARDS MUST BE LEFT ON RACKS OUTDOORS NOT IN THE LODGE.
• Any students renting equipment will go to rentals to get boots and boards/skis a chaperone will be available to assist students.
• Please label your students clothing items you don’t wish to lose. All clothes, shoes and other belongings should be kept in ski/snowboard bag after changing and kept on a shelf in the back storage room.
• Students should come with water, snacks, dinner if needed. None will be provided unless you have purchased the Catamount Meal Plan option. You are welcome to bring dinner to your student or stay at 5pm after lessons have ended.
• You may sign your student out in the Learn to Ski Club binder located on the table in our meeting place at Catamount Lodge Anytime between 5pm-7:15pm. Students must be signed out by 7:30pm.
• If a cancellation occurs you will be contacted at some point during the day.
• Students’ bags should include the following:
- Jacket
- Snow pants
- Waterproof Gloves/Mittens
- Hat/Neck Covering
- Helmet (all students are required to have a ski/snowboard helmet to participate)
- Proper mountain equipment (unless renting through Catamount)
• Students are to check in with Ms. Hay after lessons, travel with a buddy when skiing/snowboarding, and only go on approved trails that they have practiced in lessons.

There will be a Flu, COVID-19, and Pneumonia Vaccine Clinic next Wednesday, October 28, provided by Hannaford Pharmacy. 💉
Faculty and staff are welcome from 2:30–3:30 PM, and families and community members are invited from 3:30–4:30 PM.
No appointment is necessary — please bring your completed vaccine consent form and your insurance card (copies are accepted).

The clinic will be held in the Veterans Community Room (Left / High School side of building).
Families are welcome to attend! Visitors are asked to park in the side lot near the softball fields and line up behind the fence along the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School parking lots.
Can't make it in person? No worries! A video of the parade will be posted on our Facebook page immediately following the event.
Important Reminders:
• Costumes: Do not send your child to school already dressed in their costume. Students will have time to change prior to the parade. Costumes must be appropriate for a school setting, provide modest coverage, and comply with the District's Code of Conduct. Costumes may not include political figures or messaging, explicit language, or other inappropriate content.
• Face coverings: Face masks/shields are allowed for the parade ONLY. They must come off when the costume comes off after the parade.
• Student Mobility/Visibility: Costumes should allow students to move safely and comfortably. Since the parade travels throughout the entire school, this is necessary to help ensure the parade runs safely and smoothly.
• Optional Participation: Students are not required to participate. The parade is a fun opportunity for those who wish to show off their Halloween costumes to our older students and staff!

Award winning Author and Cartoonist, Mike Dawson, will be visiting our District on November 12th.
Some of his works include The Fifth Quarter graphic novel series as well as The Hidden Dominion of Geordie James. His comics have appeared in The New Yorker, Slate, Romper, and frequently within the pages of The New York Times.
On November 12th, Mr. Dawson will be doing some interactive drawing with our students during the assemblies and hosting a cartooning workshop for those students interested in learning more about telling stories through pictures.

We would like to invite all veterans and active-duty military members to join us for our annual Veterans Day Breakfast and Assemblies on Tuesday, November 10th!
The breakfast will begin at 7:30AM in the Elementary School. There will then be two assemblies beginning at 8:30AM for our Jr/Sr High students, and then another at 9:30AM for our Elementary students.
We would love to have you join us as we recognize and thank the veterans in our community for their service to our country.
