The Taconic Hills Code of Conduct has been revised, with the updates officially approved by the Board of Education on September 18, 2024. Key Changes Include: -Mission & Vision Statement: Updated Mission & Mission statement, as well as addition of new core values developed through strategic planning over the summer (page 3). - Enhanced Guidelines on Personal Electronic Devices: Expanded details regarding personal electronic device usage in school and on buses (pages 13-14). - Improved Clarity: Streamlined language, eliminated redundancies, and enhanced formatting throughout. We are thrilled to announce that starting this school year, the District will be implementing "Word of the Week" (WOW)!🌟🤩 WOW is designed to promote learning and literacy by expanding students' vocabulary and word knowledge. Each week, a new word will be posted on the sign at the end of the road, and we encourage you to join in the fun! How can you participate? Use the word of the week at home as often as possible in conversations with your students. It's a great way to reinforce learning and make language fun! We're in need of volunteers to assist with the concession stand, sports banquets, and various athletic evetns. Your support helps us provide essential resources for our athletes and coaches, as well as scholarships for graduation seniors and trophies for league champions. Attention incoming Pre-K & Kindergarten families!📣 We are hosting a Pre-K & Kindergarten Orientation on Wednesday, September 4. Pre-K Orientation will begin at 12PM. Kindergarten will begin at 1PM. During this time, the incoming student and 2 adults are welcome to meet the student's teacher, tour the classroom, review bus safety & etiquette, and go on a short bus ride! There is no need to RSVP.
