Squid & Shark Dissection

Ms. Rowley's Marine Science students had the opportunity to investigate and dissect a squid and a dog shark! They worked together to identify and examine internal and external anatomy. 🧬🦠

During the squid dissection, students located the pen and ink sac. Once removed they were able to write with the actual ink from the squid! During the shark dissection, they were able to investigate what their shark may have eaten by examining the contents of its stomach!

Overall, the students did an outstanding job and learned a great deal.

*All students were given options of roles during the dissections, including opting out. Some students read for their group, or recorded information. No one was forced to dissect if they were uncomfortable.*

Thank you for sharing these photos Ms. Rowley!
