Frequently Asked Questions

How will students and parents access instructional plans and materials?

Students in grades 1 - 12 have been issued computers for home instructional use.  Teachers will direct lessons and activities through a variety of platforms such as Google Classroom, Zoom, and other district approved software products. In addition to computer activities, some paper packet materials for elementary students may be provided.  Parents will be alerted via email and robo call if additional educational materials are available for pick up in the ES office. It is best to call ahead prior to picking materials up at the Elementary School (518-325-2820).

Will students with special needs be provided education while classes are cancelled?

The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSER) have communicated that schools may not be able to provide all services in the same manner as they have been during this national emergency. With parents as our partners, we will make our best effort to ensure that all students are learning during this time. Special Education case managers will be communicating with families on how meetings will be scheduled to meet eligibility and IEP timelines.
