VFW Award Recipients

Every year, the Veterans of Foreign Wars offer scholarships by holding essay competitions called Patriot’s Pen & Voice of Democracy, in an effort to promote patriotism and invest in the future generation.

The Patriot’s Pen essay contest encourages young minds to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, by drafting a 300 to 400word essay, expressing their views based on a patriotic theme chosen by the VFW Commander-in-Chief.

The Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay.

The 2022-23 winners of Post 7552’s Patriot’s Pen & Voice of Democracy Competitions are Gabriella Coons and Neil Howard III, respectively.

Congratulations to both Neil & Gabby! Well done!
