Fred

It is with great pleasure that we introduce Fred Hutchinson, the new Assistant Principal of Taconic Hills Junior/Senior High School. He will work closely with the Principal in order to carry out the mission and vision of Taconic Hills. Below are a few words from Fred himself.

"I am eagerly looking forward to working with your children and our staff in support of your developing students. I have been in public education for 21 years, and in administration for the last 10. I began my career as a long-term sub with the Ichabod Crane High School, where I taught English for three and a half years. From there I taught in Cairo-Durham until I was recruited by the New York State Education Department to work with identified schools as a School Improvement Specialist. Following that experience I have served in Elementary, Middle, High School and District Administrative roles.

I currently live in Chatham, New York with my two youngest children, and I serve on the Board of Education for Chatham CSD. I have a BA from SUNY New Paltz, an MS from SUNY Albany, my Certificate of Advanced Study in both building and district leadership from The College of Saint Rose, and I will be completing my Ph.D. at The University at Albany in the Fall of 2024. In 2005 I received the Teacher of the Year Award from the Greene County Rotary Club, in 2011 I received the Motivational Teacher of the Year from the Black Scholars Association in Westchester County, and in 2022 I received the District Leadership of Excellence Award from CASDA. It is with great honor and much excitement that I begin my journey at Taconic Hills. Go Titans!"

Welcome aboard Fred!
