Stephen Hill Speak Sobriety

On Tuesday, Stephen Hill, founder of Speak Sobriety, visited Taconic Hills to speak with our juniors and seniors about the importance of leading a healthy, substance-free life and mindfully building a life worth defending.

Mr. Hill shared his personal life journey, sharing a powerful message about the choices we make, the influence of peer pressure, and the importance of making decisions that protect our futures. One of his key messages was simple but impactful: “You cannot become addicted to something you never try.” He encouraged students to recognize the pressures they may face, feel confident saying no to substances, and understand that they have the power to make choices that support their health and well-being.

Following the assembly, students participated in smaller breakout sessions throughout the day, giving them the opportunity to ask Mr. Hill questions, engage in meaningful conversations, and connect with him on a more personal level.

A special thank you to the Columbia County District Attorney's Office and the Columbia County Sheriff's Office for sponsoring this valuable learning opportunity and making it possible for our students to participate at no cost to the District. We are also grateful to Stephen Hill for sharing his personal story and encouraging our students to make thoughtful, healthy choices that will positively impact their futures. 🧡
