An athlete must be fully vaccinated in order to participate in a high risk sport, such as Basketball, Wrestling, Volleyball, or Cheer.  If a student athlete is not of legal age to receive the vaccination, they may participate but must be tested twice a week at school for COVID-19 using the rapid antigen test.  The school district covers the costs of all tests.  Students participating in a low to moderate risk sport such as swim or alpine ski, may be subject to weekly COVID-19 testing.  Masks must be worn by all participants of inside sports regardless of vaccination status.

All students must have a current physical in order to participate. Physicals expire one year after the date obtained.  Please check now and make an appointment with your primary if an updated physical is needed. In an emergency, one could go to Urgent Care in Copake to obtain a physical but it may not be covered by your insurance.  The NYSED attached form for physicals must be used by your primary for physicals. Please fax a copy of current physicals to our school nurse  518-325-2856 or upload a copy into FamilyID.

Students in grades 9 - 12 are eligible to sign up for JV and Varsity teams (exception mod volleyball) while students in graded 7 & 8 are eligible to sign up for modified teams.  If a 7th or 8th grader wishes to play at the Varsity level, they must be approved through the Athletic Placement Process.  Please contact me asap for more information and to begin the process.

Females may participate on the Wrestling team but must be approved through the mixed competition process. There are many factors to consider since females would be competing against other males. Please contact me asap for more information and to begin the process if this applies to you.

Check out our athletic website for links to a lot of great information.
