Dr. Neil Howard, Supt. of Schools & Members of the Board of Education Taconic Hills Central School District Craryville, NY 12521
Dear Dr. Howard & Members of the BOE:
The NYSPHSAA has been sponsoring the scholar athlete team award program since 1991. To earn a team award, a certain required number of varsity athletes in each sport must have their season’s report card average combined for a team average. If that average is 90% or greater the NYSPHSAA declares the team a New York State Scholar Athlete Team. Each athlete who has an average of 90% or better, or helps the team earn an average of 90%, receives a scholar athlete pin and the school district receives an official certificate recognizing this effort and achievement.
It is an honor and privilege to present the NYS Scholar Athlete Team Award to the following Fall Athletic Teams: Field Hockey, Girls Soccer, Boys & Girls Cross Country, & Golf, for achieving academic excellence while actively participating in varsity interscholastic athletics during the fall 2018 season. Our young and dedicated students continue to show that academic performance is enhanced by athletic and extra-curricular participation. With this significant award and achievement, our school district demonstrates its dedication to promoting high standards of academics and also recognizing athletics as being beneficial to the overall educational program.
Congratulations to all of our scholar athletes, teachers, coaches, administrators, BOE, and parents for helping our teams and school district receive this positive and meaningful recognition.
Sincerely, Angela Webster – Athletic Director Frank Jause - Assistant Athletic Director
