February 3, 2018 Shealynn Waite came in second place in the Physical Sciences session of the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium Sub-Regional Competition held at Burnt Hills - Ballston Lake High School. She went on to present her work in the poster session of the Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium at the University at Albany on March 7th, 2018.
On March 24, 2018 all Science Research seniors presented their original research at the Greater Capital Region Science and Engineering Fair held at RPI. There were about 100 students competing and only 30 awards presented. All three Taconic Hills students earned awards for their work.
Carli Hathaway earned the National Association of Biology Teachers Award
Shealynn Waite earned the Albany Molecular Research Inc. Award
Grace Howard earned the American Meteorological Society Award , as well as The Stockholm Junior Water Prize
All three of these outstanding students will be presenting their research projects to our community on the evening of Tuesday, May 29th at the annual Taconic Hills High School Science Symposium. The current research work of all Science Research students will also be showcased that night. The public is invited. More information to follow.
