The NY Dashboard shows two positive COVID-19 cases from a Lab Reported Positives based on Residential Address of a student age 5-17 living in the boundaries of our school district (both cases are not Taconic Hills students). The Taconic Hills Central School District did not submit this data and has not received any information regarding positive COVID cases at our school. Based on information from the Columbia County Department of Health, the children do not reside within the boundaries of our school district, and also do not attend Taconic Hills.
The Dashboard has caused significant confusion across the state for districts. Districts supply information for the dashboard and medical labs report positive cases by residential address. We are working with the NYS DOH and CC DOH to correct the inaccuracies, and all agencies to make recommendations for improving the Dashboard. If we have any confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our district, we will notify parents, community and staff immediately. Our top priority is the health and safety of our students.
