The school year has begun, we are off and running! I am excited to be coming aboard the Titan’s Team as your new Director of Pupil Personnel Services. From the class of 2019 down to the class of 2031, I look forward to collaborating with the families, students and educators of Taconic Hills Central Schools.
I appreciate this time of year as we face opportunities of change. The fortunate chance to come to Taconic Hills as your director is exciting and came at a time when my oldest child of three went off to college! I served in the role of Coordinator for Response to Intervention, Committee of Special Education and Career Development and Occupational Studies during my nine year tenure with the Greater Amsterdam School districts. In addition to my administrative positions I have taught Pre-K to Grade 5, AIS reading and served as Curriculum Leader for Social Studies and English Language Arts both in the Capital Region and on Long Island.
A community that commits to practices that respect the individual and restore relationships is impactful. New York State’s Office of Special Education clearly states that a primary focus for our PPS department is to engage students and families in a relationship that effectively advances the education and well being of the student. Taconic Hills Central Schools dedicated time and resources at the commencement of the school year to promote the social and emotional well being of our students. My office staff and I encourage you to communicate with us to enhance the lives of our students and families.
Sincerely, Stella Ritter Director of Pupil Personnel Services
