The Taconic Hills Central School District would like to welcome Cindy Madison as our new School Resource Deputy (SRD) and DARE Instructor. Cindy has been with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy for 10 years also serving as a diver on the CCSO Dive Team, Accident Reconstruction Team, the Car Seat Safety Program and Project Lifesaver.
Cindy grew up locally and after school went onto serve in the Armed Forces as a Military Police Officer for 10 years. She was deployed to Iraq in 2006. She has 2 children and enjoys horseback riding, soccer, track and field and many other sports. Cindy hopes to be a positive role model and mentor for the students and is looking forward to her new role helping kids stay on the right track and running programs and activities within the school.
The SRD Program started in 2014 as a partnership with Taconic Hills and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department. Officers must have significant experience as a Deputy and attend specific training for working in a school environment. The SRD program is designed to promote and provide an atmosphere of enhanced school safety, proactively address problems and pressures as they relate to students, and increase student awareness of crime prevention, conflict resolution and safety.
Please take an opportunity to welcome Deputy Madison to our school!
