Below are instructions for setting up e-mail on your mobile device (iphone and android).
The main things to remember are:
- We are using Microsoft Exchange 2016
- Mail server is mail.taconichills.k12.ny.us
- Domain is taconichills
- Your full e-mail address email@example.com
- Your password
Step 1) On your iPhone, tap SETTINGS, then tap PASSWORDS AND ACCOUNTS.
Step 2) Under ACCOUNTS, tap ADD ACCOUNT.
Step 3) Tap the Microsoft Exchange listing. NOT Outlook.com
Step 4) Fill in your email address. In the DESCRIPTION section, you can name it whatever you like, for example, Work Email and click NEXT. Note: The address you fill in must be your primary SMTP address, which is your firstname.lastname@example.org.
Step 5) At next pop-up screen, click on SIGN IN, and it will prompt you for your password. Fill in your password and tap NEXT.
NOTE: In a normal configuration attempt, the server should be automatically populated as mail.taconichills.k12.ny.us. In some instances we have seen that this has not been automatically populated and the configuration attempt would halt at this point. To proceed past this point, manually enter mail.taconichills.k12.ny.us.
Step 6) The EMAIL section should be automatically populated. Fill in the SERVER section with mail.taconichills.k12.ny.us. You can leave the DOMAIN section blank. The USERNAME section will again be your email address email@example.com. Tap the DONE button.
Step 7) From here, you can choose which parts of your email account you would like to synchronize. If you synchronize your calendar items, they will appear in the iPhone Calendar application. By default, everything is set to synchronize.
Step 8) Tap the SAVE button to synchronize your phone.
Be patient, this may take some time to complete.
