Introduction:

As a famous archeologist, you have been asked to visit Greek and Roman sites from ancient Europe. While there, you discover an ancient text that contains information on many famous ancient Greek and Roman figures. You realize you can become even more famous by writing biographies of these famous figures.

Task:

Complete a biographical sketch. Write a first-person introduction and present it to other archeologists. It must be one page long and must describe the person's attributes, contributions and the people he/she may have influenced. Click here for an example. Once you have created the biographical sketch, you will complete one project from the selection in this handout.

Review the timelines of ancient Greek and Roman civilizations.
To have a better understanding of the Roman God, review the list and complete the missing information.
Select a figure to write about.
Select a project to work on.
Have your teacher approve your selection.
Take notes.
Complete a final draft.
Work on your project.
Complete your project.
Make a presention to your class.
Hand in your notes with your final copy.
Turn in your project.

This WebQuest was created as a collaboration between the Technology and Social Studies Departments at Taconic Hills Middle School. The WebQuest was designed by Mrs. Ueland (Computer Technology Teacher, Lead Tech Facilitator) based upon a lesson plan from Mrs. Sigler (6th Grade Teacher).
