Spanish Cultural Exchange Project

Project Description

This Spanish Cultural Exchange Project will demonstrate how the Taconic Hills School District's existing videoconferencing system (hosted by the North East Regional Information Center, NERIC) and bulletin-board technologies (Learning Village) supports intercultural projects that address district curriculum standards in highly motivating and effective ways.  The projects design and technology use will serve as a model for other activities that use the school district's technologies to extend beyond the geographical limitations of a our rural, upstate community.

Videoconferencing Program Description (from Spanish Partners): "The objective is to provide foreign language students with an opportunity to participate in authentic communication and cultural comparison and exchange with students from foreign language cultures through the use of videoconferencing and web-based communication technology.
